Duquesne University

Research Interests

The Auron lab focuses on molecular gene regulation of immunologically relevant molecules, especially Toll-Like Receptor pro-inflammatory induction in monocytes and other myeloid cells. Cellular signal transduction, gene regulation (Especially RNA Polymerase II Transcription Initiation; and transcription factor regulation and function).

Technique Expertise or Resources to share

Monocyte and macrophage cell culture using primary human and mouse cells and established cell lines. The primary assays are: mRNA RT-PCR; ChIP-PCR; 3C/Chromatin Conformational Capture; protein-protein interaction assays; live-cell widefield & confocal fluorescence microscopy; Normoxic & Hypoxic cell-culture; Bio-informatics (especially transcription factor searches and sequence homology); 3-D molecular structure analysis, docking & molecular dynamics.
