Research Interests

The Little Lab explores synthetic delivery strategies that mimic those of cells and tissues in order to enhance (or alternatively endow new) functionality. Our group explores new ways to produce complex, temporo-spatial presentation of bio-active molecules to mimic natural biological context. Specifically, we explore nano and micro fabrication techniques to promote proper spatial context. We intend to utilize this technology to modulate regulatory T-cells (Treg) and antigen presenting populations in the tumor microenvironment. The Little lab has also explored the sequential delivery of growth factors to facilitate building new blood vessels. Further developed from the controlled release system, our group successfully fabricated CCL-22 releasing microparticles technology to treat inflammatory periodontal disease, these CCL-22MP dramatically reduced inflammation-induced symptoms without administration of antibiotics.
